Pipefitter Specialist

As a skilled Pipefitter, you will be responsible for performing complex piping maintenance duties, including inspection, pipe and tube bending, repair, installation, and alteration of pipe systems, valves, and controls. You will work with blueprints, hydraulics, and piping systems to ensure efficient and safe operations.

• Inspect and repair piping systems, valves, and controls
• Install and modify piping systems, including pipe welding and fitting
• Review building plans and specifications to determine piping system layouts and troubleshooting
• Identify required tools and special equipment
• Select pipe and valve types and sizes
• Locate and mark positions for connections, equipment, and system components
• Install supports and hangers for pipe, components, and equipment
• Assemble and install valves and fittings
• Install, repair, and maintain HVAC, piping, and process controls
• Test pipe systems and fixtures for leaks
• Perform scheduled maintenance service on piping systems and control valves

• Current State of Michigan Plumbers License or Journeyman's card
• Good verbal communication skills
• Good eyesight, hand/eye coordination, and manual dexterity
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good physical health, strength, and stamina
• Ability to work alone and as a member of a team

• Ability to read drawings and blueprints and interpret specifications
• Knowledge of safe operating procedures
• Ability to understand and apply industry standards for installation, repairs, and safety
• Ability to operate power tools and equipment
• Ability to operate computer-based equipment
• Familiarity with computerized IWMS/CMMS work order process
