Job Summary
We are seeking a Registered Nurse to work in our Medical-Surgical Nephrology unit at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. As a critical care nurse specialist, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and promoting positive outcomes through effective communication and education.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, individualized nursing care to patients with acute and chronic medical conditions.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Conduct thorough assessments, identify risks, and implement interventions to prevent complications and promote recovery.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient progress, including vital signs, medications, and treatment plans.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of evidence-based practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in New York State.
- Minimum one year of experience in medical-surgical nursing, preferably in a critical care setting.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, push/pull heavy equipment, and stand for long periods.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
