The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality wound care services to our patients, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:- **Assess and document wound status and skin care**: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' wounds and skin conditions, documenting all findings and treatment plans.
- **Administer and assist with wound treatments**: Administer wound treatments as ordered by physicians, and assist with wound care procedures as needed.
- **Supervise and educate staff**: Supervise and educate nursing staff on wound care protocols and procedures, ensuring that all staff members are knowledgeable and competent in wound care.
- **Develop and implement wound care plans**: Develop and implement individualized wound care plans for each patient, taking into account their unique needs and circumstances.
- **Collaborate with interdisciplinary team**: Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.
- **Maintain accurate records**: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient wound care, including assessments, treatments, and outcomes.
- **Participate in quality improvement initiatives**: Participate in quality improvement initiatives to ensure that wound care services are delivered in accordance with established standards and best practices.
- **Current RN or LPN licensure**: Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a RN or LPN in the state of Illinois.
- **CPR certification**: Must possess a current CPR certificate or become certified within two weeks of employment.
- **Knowledge of wound care**: Must be knowledgeable of wound care principles, practices, and procedures.
- **Leadership and supervisory skills**: Must possess leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to supervise and educate staff.
- **Excellent communication skills**: Must possess excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
The successful candidate will be required to work a variety of shifts, including Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays, or Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
