Role Responsibilities:
As a Registered Nurse in the medical-surgical unit, you will be responsible for delivering both direct and indirect patient care. Your role will involve effective communication with healthcare professionals regarding any changes in patient conditions, including diagnostic results and symptoms. You will need to demonstrate the ability to respond promptly and accurately to any shifts in patient status or treatment responses.
Key Duties:
In addition to your primary nursing responsibilities, you may also take on charge nurse duties, which include:
- Assigning patient care tasks based on the skill levels and experiences of nursing staff, ensuring safety for both patients and staff.
- Guiding and mentoring nursing personnel in all aspects of patient care.
- Engaging in quality improvement initiatives, from planning to execution, and addressing any lapses in duty performance among staff.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- A valid Registered Nurse license in the state of Texas.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- ACLS certification from the American Heart Association within 90 days of employment.
