Senior Construction Cost Estimator

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Cost Estimator to support the Los Angeles Airport. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing and maintaining cost data for new construction and renovation work, as required for Terminal Development & Improvement Program projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring project budgets, reviewing and analyzing sub-contractor invoices, and preparing job costing reports to allocate expenditures against the appropriate WBS numbers. They will also perform cost-to-complete analysis for all cost elements within a project, taking into consideration staffing plans, contract commitments, and expenditures to date, change orders and trends.
The Construction Cost Estimator will attend project meetings to provide Project Management with current financial information and trend logs regarding potential impacts to project budget or forecast. They will also provide progress reporting documents and briefing materials as required, and develop creative reporting tools to communicate complex project sequencing and/or progress assessments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor project budgets for the multi-billion-dollar Capital Improvement Program at Los Angeles World Airports.
- Review and analyze sub-contractor invoices, ensuring expenditures are accurately incurred against appropriate Schedule of Values accounts.
- Prepare job costing reports to allocate these expenditures against the appropriate WBS numbers.
- Perform cost-to-complete analysis for all cost elements within a project.
- Attend project meetings to provide Project Management with current financial information and trend logs.
- Provide progress reporting documents and briefing materials as required.
Requirements:
- 3-10 years or more of cost engineering experience directly related to construction projects, preferably aviation projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing and reporting the cost components of large-scale, complex projects.
- Demonstrated ability to understand technical and complicated construction programs and the ability to communicate progress to both technical- and management-level personnel.
- Good Communication Skills.
- Ability to work with others, a self-starter with results-driven focus.
- Proven accuracy, reliability, and completeness in job accomplishment.
- Bachelor's or Masters degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or other related technical field required.
