About the Role

The Sheraton Pentagon City is seeking a skilled Bartender to join our team. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests, ensuring a positive experience in our bar area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Bar Setup and Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including the requisitioning and stocking of all necessary supplies.
  • Drink Preparation and Service: Prepare and serve drinks to guests, using standard recipes and practicing portion control.
  • Guest Interaction: Greet guests in a friendly and courteous manner, promote and document orders for drinks.
  • Accountability and Cash Handling: Input orders into a register at the point of sale, create checks for each guest, and maintain accountability of all beverages served.
  • Inventory Management: Receive cash from guests, make change as needed, and verify the validity of charges.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Lock and store all beverage, food, and other equipment items, and secure the bank.
Requirements
  • Knowledge and Skills: Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service of various alcoholic beverages, and basic mathematical skills.
  • Physical Abilities: Sufficient manual dexterity to use a knife to make garnish, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead to retrieve stock.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to remember, recite, and promote the variety of menu items, and operate a keyboard and point of sale procedures.
  • Teamwork and Adaptability: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers, and patrons, and adapt communication style to suit different audiences.
