JOB TITLE: SENIOR FINANCIAL OFFICER

The Salvation Army, a globally recognized non-profit organization with a faith-based mission, is seeking a Senior Financial Officer for its operations.

Position Type & Pay Range: Regular Full-Time, 37.5 hours weekly, $25.76-$28.97 hourly.

About this opportunity:

This role serves as the primary leader in overseeing and executing computerized double-entry bookkeeping functions, necessitating a solid understanding of fund accounting principles to accurately document and uphold precise financial records and data. Responsibilities include:

1. **Supervision and Training:** Lead and mentor accounting staff in various bookkeeping tasks, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures.

2. **Financial Record Maintenance:** Accurately prepare and maintain financial documentation, ensuring the integrity and security of financial accounts.

3. **Accounts Management:** Manage both accounts payable and receivable ledgers, processing invoices, payments, and reconciling discrepancies.

4. **Cash Handling:** Record and deposit cash receipts, maintaining accurate daily tabulations and reports.

5. **Reporting:** Generate comprehensive financial reports, including Income & Expense Statements, Balance Sheets, and Bank Reconciliations.

6. **Budget Preparation:** Assist in the development and review of budgets, making necessary adjustments in collaboration with management.

7. **Audit Support:** Participate in audit preparations, compiling necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.

What we are looking for in you:

A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, along with two years of progressively responsible bookkeeping experience utilizing computerized accounting systems.

Licenses and Certifications:

Successful completion of a background check is required. A valid state driver’s license may be necessary.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Ability to meet attendance standards, communicate effectively in English, and perform various office tasks.
