Location: Bryson City, NC

Salary Range: $14-16 per hour

Position Overview: The Kitchen Operations Staff is responsible for the preparation of all food items, emphasizing exceptional standards in food quality and hygiene. Collaborate with the Head Cook to develop and execute standard recipes, unique menu offerings, manage inventory, and minimize waste.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Consult with the Manager on Duty regarding daily food requirements and goals.
  • Support the Head Cook in all aspects of food preparation.
  • Prepare dishes following approved standard recipes.
  • Ensure the quality of all food products and uphold sanitation standards in compliance with State and Federal regulations.
  • Maintain high standards of food presentation at all times.
  • Regularly clean and organize storage areas, including walk-ins, refrigerators, and freezers.
  • Adhere to uniform standards throughout the shift.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized during service.
  • Maintain a sanitary environment in accordance with local and federal health codes.
  • Follow company service standards, procedures, and policies.
  • Assist with monthly inventory, daily waste logs, and reorder out-of-stock items.
  • Ensure proper preparation of pork products the night before, checking oven temperatures before and after use.
  • Assist with receiving, storing, and managing inventory.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by Food & Beverage Management or senior management.
Qualifications:
  • Basic understanding of food service and preparation techniques.
  • Effective communication skills in both written and spoken English.
  • Self-motivated and disciplined individual.
  • Minimum age requirement: 18 years.
  • Able to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Good balance and ability to walk on moving trains.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask while prioritizing workload.
  • Ability to interact successfully with diverse personalities and work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Availability to work weekends and holidays.
  • Adaptable and open to continuous improvement.
  • Professional appearance and good personal hygiene.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and driver's license verification (for operating company vehicles).
  • Reliable attendance and flexibility with work schedules.
  • Proficient in using basic kitchen equipment, including gas and convection ovens, slicers, dishwashers, knives, and steam tables.
Work Environment:
  • Ability to work long shifts, which may require prolonged standing and lifting of items up to 50 lbs.
  • Capable of working with various personalities and resolving conflicts.
  • Willingness to work in all weather conditions.
  • Able to tolerate temperature variations from 0 to 100 degrees.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
