Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote the Wellness Program and provide care, assessment, triage, and treatment.
  • Provide input to the H&W Director, Physician, and Mental Health Consultant for case management of student's health issues.
  • Coordinate and deliver orientation to Health Services to students.
  • Assist the H&W Director with Center-Wide staff training requirements.
  • Coordinate and promote activities that support health and safety throughout the Center.
  • Ensure delivery of quality services is provided to trainees and staff at all times.
  • Assist students in developing their employability skills.
  • Develop strategies and initiatives to increase participation in health and wellness activities on-Center.
  • Promote a safe and secure environment.
  • Comply with OSHA requirements.
  • Assist the H&W Director with medication management including monthly inventory and ordering of stock medication/vaccines, the daily count and monitoring of controlled substances, and daily ordering and monitoring of trainees' prescriptions to ensure safety of medications and vaccines.
  • Maintain accurate records for ordering, storage, administration, and disposal of medication/vaccines.
  • Assist in monitoring use, maintenance, and disposal of supplies and equipment in Health Services.
  • Ensure medical records are maintained and in compliance with DOL, Corporate, and Center requirements and the Nurse Practice Act.
  • Provide on-call services to handle emergency care.
  • Implement, direct, and monitor infection control measures in Health Services and assist with monitoring Center-wide infection control.
  • Comply with OSHA requirements.
  • Provides written health standing orders for departments and on procedures of healthcare.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Department Director.
  • Participate with the Student Government Association's (SGA) Health and Wellness Committee.
  • The Registered Nurse (RN) will supervise the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). In accordance with state-specific nurse practice act.
  • Acts proactively, completes tasks in a timely and proficient manner, tracks, and follows through on action items, exercises good judgment, and problem-solving skills on Director's behalf, and other comparable duties.
  • Enter information into the CIS and keeps necessary files and records.
  • Maintain accurate hard and electronic copy files as necessary to ensure department meets DOL, Corporate, and Center expectations.
  • Run CIS reports to ensure information entered is accurate.
  • Monitor budget, controls inventory, and ensures the department areas are attractive, clean, safe, and in good repair: Complete PRs and check requests to include budget management.
  • Ensure that POs are received and filed initially, and that the items requested are received in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all equipment assigned to the department is properly accounted for and maintained in good condition.
  • Initiate work orders and ensure that repairs are completed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that work area, including Director's area and other assigned areas, are attractive, clean, and safe at all times.
  • Follows all integrity guidelines and procedures and ensures confidentiality and no manipulation of information.
