About the Role

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist IV to join our team in Santa Clara, California.

Job Summary

As a Radiologic Technologist IV, you will play a critical role in assisting physicians in the diagnosis of disease and injuries by performing radiographic diagnostic imaging procedures. You will operate radiographic equipment to produce high-quality images of the body, ensuring optimal diagnostic quality and patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures, including fluoroscopic and special x-ray examinations.
  • Explain procedures to patients, reducing anxieties and obtaining cooperation.
  • Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring optimal views of specified areas of the body.
  • Adjust immobilization devices and equipment controls to set exposure factors and produce images of proper detail, density, and accuracy.
  • Operate mobile radiologic equipment in operating rooms, emergency rooms, or at patients' bedsides.
  • Assist radiologists and other qualified physicians in fluoroscopic and special x-ray examinations.
  • Process images, review for proper identification and quality control, and complete forms and maintain records.
  • Perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and make minor repairs on radiologic equipment.
  • Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff.
Requirements
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a specialty, or one year of experience with an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification in that specialty.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist - Fluoroscopy Certificate (California), Certified Radiologic Technologist - Venipuncture Certificate (California), and Basic Life Support.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to effectively present information to individuals and groups with varying knowledge of Radiology services.
