To be successful in this role, candidates must possess a completion of a 24-month formal program or military program of Radiologic Technology, with eligibility and/or current registration from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT). Relevant certification, such as Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), is also highly desirable.
Candidates should have a minimum of one year of experience working in a cath lab or similar procedural area, with a strong understanding of cardiovascular procedures and patient care protocols. Basic Life Support (BLS) training is required, with Advanced Life Support (ACLS) training to be completed within six months of hire.
As a Cath Lab Technologist, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing equipment before and during procedures
- Identifying and assessing patient condition
- Establishing and maintaining a sterile environment
- Serving as a preceptor for new hires and radiology students
- Participating in the orientation of new staff
