We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at Omni Hotels & Resorts. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food items to meet the company's specifications.
Responsibilities- Independently prepare all food items as directed by supervisor and to the company specifications.
- Inspect all food products for quality and ensure they meet the company's standards.
- Follow all storage procedures when taking food out of the walk-in and when returning food to the walk-in.
- Safely and properly use all culinary equipment.
- Keep the walk-in, prep area, and equipment up to Health Department and EcoSure standards at all times.
- Attend department meetings and other company-required trainings.
- Complete other duties as assigned by management.
- At least 2-3 years of culinary experience in a hotel or restaurant kitchen.
- Ability to work efficiently without needing immediate supervision from management.
- Familiarity with weights and measures to follow and multiply standard recipes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as organizational skills.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure work environment while executing delegated tasks and assignments.
- Culinary degree and/or formal training preferred.
- Texas Food Handlers certification required.
The position requires working in the interior of a hotel in restaurant and kitchen areas with exposure to humidity, steam, and extreme temperatures. You will also be exposed to food and beverage hazardous cleaning chemicals.
