We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Estimator to join our team at RP Communities. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for estimating work required for development projects by gathering proposals, plans, specifications, and related documents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimate Costs: Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil construction projects, analyzing project plans, specifications, and other documentation to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.
  • Collaborate with Team Members: Work closely with development managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure accurate and competitive bids.
  • Conduct Site Visits: Conduct site visits and assessments to gather necessary information for accurate estimating.
  • Review and Evaluate Quotes: Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure they meet contract documents.
  • Develop Strategies: Identify potential risks and opportunities in project bids and develop strategies to address them.
  • Prepare Bid Proposals: Prepare and present detailed bid proposals to the development manager and stakeholders.
  • Review and Understand Documents: Review and understand proposals, estimates, plans, specifications, permits, and related contract documents, analyzing labor, material, equipment, and time requirements.
  • Perform Quantity Takeoffs: Quickly and with precision perform quantity takeoffs, develop subcontractor work parameters, and review pricing.
  • Create Project Schedules: Create project schedules and organize subcontractors' quotations.
  • Negotiate Quotes: Negotiate with subcontractors to ensure quotes meet contract documents.
  • Meet with Clients: Meet with potential clients and professionals as required to discuss options for proposed services.
  • Maintain Unit Pricing: Provide and maintain unit pricing and database for material and labor costing.
  • Develop Budgets: Develop original budgets and maintain cost-to-date and forecasts for monthly report outs.
Requirements
  • Proven Experience: Proven experience as a Civil Construction Estimator in the construction industry.
  • Knowledge of Civil Construction: In-depth knowledge of civil construction processes, materials, and cost estimation techniques.
  • Analytical and Mathematical Skills: Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Estimating Software and Microsoft Office Suite: Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to Work Independently: Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Valid Driver's License: Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to Travel: Ability to travel, work extended hours, and some weekends.
