Uc Engineer

Job Summary

TEKsystems is seeking a highly skilled Uc Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical support for Avaya and Cisco phone systems, as well as Contact Center Express issues. You will also work on daily moves, adds, and changes, and help implement, integrate, and maintain cloud infrastructure using SDN. Additionally, you will participate in performance monitoring and tuning of network systems, and participate in engineering, design, and project management of network systems projects. You will also develop and maintain diagrams documenting company networks, and participate in technology evaluation and selection processes. You will effectively communicate with clients, peers, and supervision, and develop and maintain relationships with clients, peers, vendors, and management. You will also work in cooperation with IT Security to ensure compliance with Enterprise Security standards, and support NERC-CIP compliance. You will jointly participate with Security and Administration to develop satisfactory backup and restore practices, as well as disaster recovery planning and testing. You will also participate in establishing processes and procedures that streamline and reduce costs, and manage and improve costs of budgeted Capital and Operational and Maintenance activities. You will also perform other duties as assigned, and comply with all policies and standards.

Requirements

5+ years experience in technical network support, or an equivalent combination of education and experience on a year-for-year basis. The incumbent must effectively deal with the rapid technological and business change while maintaining enthusiasm and displaying sound judgment and common sense.

Preferred Qualifications

Participation in continuing education courses and/or technical seminars is helpful. A successful academic or work background indicating a demonstrated ability to absorb information, apply conceptual skills in practical applications, and achieve desired results in a highly technical, operating environment. Experience with programming and/or scripting is a plus. Automation scripting skills using tools like Ansible, Python, and Powershell a plus. Working knowledge of Cis Avaya first and then Cisco Communications Call manager and Unity Connection Voicemail, Contact Center Express and some Zoom and or Team Phones experience would be helpful but not required.
