Job Description

The RN Unit Manager provides 24-hour clinical and staff management, clinical follow-up of residents, and problem situations on the nursing unit. They set specific standards and objectives for the nursing unit and assume supervision of the Nursing Department in the absence of the Director of Nursing.

The ideal candidate will have a Graduate degree from an accredited Nursing Program or Healthcare Management, with a minimum of three (3) years work experience as a Registered Nurse in a Long Term Care or Med/Surg setting, and at least one (1) year supervisory experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for 24 hours management of their respective unit, including crisis intervention.
  • Formulates, interprets, communicates, and assures follow through of the department policies and procedures.
  • DIRECTS AND DELEGATES MANAGEMENT OF PROFESSIONAL AND ANCILLARY NURSING PERSONNEL.
  • EVALUATES PERFORMANCE OF THE NURSING DEPARTMENT STAFF.
  • Makes sound judgments after gathering factual, objective information.

Requirements:

  • A current license as a Registered Nurse as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nurse Examiners.
  • Good management skills required.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills required for effective interaction with staff, residents and visitors.

Estimated Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000 per annum
