About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mammography Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality imaging services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform basic and intermediate screening and diagnostic mammography examinations, ensuring accurate and efficient results.
  • Review patient medical records to obtain necessary clinical information, including patient history, lab results, and physician orders.
  • Evaluate mammographic images for positioning, technique, artifacts, and compression, and repeat images as necessary to ensure optimal diagnostic quality.
  • Post-process images as directed, accurately identifying and labeling images with patient information.
  • Provide Radiologists with pertinent patient history when reviewing films, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with regulatory agencies and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system.
  • Perform various patient positioning and transporting duties, utilizing proper technique and adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements
  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
  • Advanced training beyond High School in Radiologic Technology.
  • At least one full year of mammography experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) and basic radiation safety.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills to work effectively with physicians, patients, and other staff members.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, and twist throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs. over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs. a reasonable distance.
  • Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present.
  • May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards as well as blood and body fluids; therefore, personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary.
