Role Overview: As a Hospice Music Therapist, you will work closely with our healthcare team to deliver compassionate music therapy services. Your expertise will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for patients during their final stages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver professional music therapy in alignment with established protocols and certification standards.
  • Educate patients, families, and staff about the benefits and practices of music therapy.
  • Set therapy goals as part of comprehensive patient assessments.
  • Plan, evaluate, and adjust therapy sessions to ensure effectiveness and continuity of care.
  • Engage actively in therapy sessions through instrument play, singing, and responsive listening.
  • Encourage patient participation and provide musical responses to their emotional expressions.
  • Support the creative development of patients and promote positive behavioral changes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy.
  • Current Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) credential.
  • State licensure in music therapy as required.
  • Minimum of six months of experience in geriatric healthcare.
  • Minimum of six months of experience in end-of-life care.
