Role Summary:
The Wellness Nurse plays a vital role in the Resident Care Team, assisting the Resident Care Director in managing the community. Responsibilities include supervising Resident Care Associates, monitoring residents' health needs, and providing on-call support as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Uphold the mission and core values of LCB Senior Living while interacting with residents, families, and the community.
- Actively contribute to community occupancy growth through positive engagement with potential residents and their families.
- Assist in assessing resident needs and developing service plans in compliance with state regulations.
- Understand the physiological and psychological changes associated with aging and disabilities.
- Oversee daily tasks of resident care associates.
- Evaluate residents' medical concerns and communicate with the Executive Director, families, and medical professionals as needed.
- Foster teamwork and collaboration across departments to enhance service quality.
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols among resident care assistants.
- Participate in community marketing initiatives.
- Provide direct care to residents as required.
- Support resident care associates with inquiries and emergency situations.
- Maintain staffing schedules and ensure adequate coverage at all times.
- Review and manage incident reports to minimize future occurrences.
- Assist the Resident Care Director with necessary documentation for compliance.
- Administer medications and treatments as per physician orders and regulatory guidelines.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
Must possess good physical and mental health, with the ability to lift a minimum of fifteen (15) lbs. and perform various physical tasks. Good visual and auditory acuity is essential, along with the ability to maintain a positive attitude and professional appearance.
Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong understanding of resident care planning and regulatory compliance, with effective communication skills in English.
Education: High school diploma and graduation from an accredited Nursing Program.
Experience: Minimum of two years in a geriatric setting, with prior health care experience preferred.
Licenses/Certifications: Current RN or LPN License in the state of employment.
