Job Summary:

NYU Langone Health is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for operating radiological equipment to produce clinical diagnostic films as directed by physicians. You will perform routine diagnostic procedures according to established policies and procedures, and ensure that all Radiology Department duties are completed efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Imaging Procedures: Take quality x-ray images of specified body areas/parts as ordered by the physician, following established procedures and guidelines.
  • Department Operations: Take initiative and be proactive in resolving issues that are encountered in the Department. Have good knowledge of PACS, CR Readers, and their operation.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Perform all documentation duties as required by the Department, including maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Patient Care: Ensure the patient's comfort and dignity during the procedure, using pillows, table pads, sheets, blankets, etc.
  • Portability and Flexibility: Perform x-ray exams in other areas of the hospital with portable equipment, using proper positioning and technical factors to produce a diagnostic radiograph.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Accept direction from supervisor willingly, demonstrate an awareness of self-responsibility and accountability for own professional practice, and perform examinations in an organized manner and logical sequence.
  • Quality and Safety: Demonstrate the proper use of lead shields to protect gonads and unaffected parts of the body from exposure to radiation, and identify his/her role to the patient, explaining the procedure and answering questions relating to the procedure.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required, Graduate of an accredited program in Radiological Technology.
  • Experience: 2-5+ years preferred, with willingness to devote the time required completing assigned tasks on schedule.
  • Licenses and Certifications: New York State License required, ARRT required, Temporary permit to practice Diagnostic Radiography issued by New York State Department of Health is acceptable for 180 days only.
