NorthWest Arkansas Community College is seeking a qualified Theatre Instructor to join our faculty team on a part-time basis. As a Theatre Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching introductory and playwriting courses, as well as working with students, directors, actors, stage technicians, and playwrights.
Key Responsibilities- Teach introductory and playwriting courses in the Theatre department
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and curriculum
- Assess student progress and provide feedback
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement departmental goals and objectives
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures
- Master's degree in Theatre or a related field
- Experience teaching introductory and playwriting courses
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and administrators
- Knowledge of theatre techniques and practices
The Theatre Instructor will work in a fast-paced academic environment, with frequent interactions with students, colleagues, and administrators. The position requires strong organizational and time management skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Physical DemandsThe Theatre Instructor will be required to stand, sit, and walk frequently, as well as manipulate items with fingers and keyboard. The worker will be required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, and/or visual inspection at distances close to the eyes.
