Position Overview
The Radiologic Technician is responsible for conducting a range of technical examinations in the field of Radiology, working under the guidance of a qualified Radiologist.
This role involves the operation of x-ray machinery, preparation of the examination area, and management of necessary equipment, supplies, and medications. The technician will deliver patient care by employing established positioning techniques and technical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform various radiographic procedures to assist in patient diagnosis.
- Ensure the examination room is properly equipped and organized.
- Maintain an efficient workflow within the Radiology department.
- Adhere to safety protocols while operating radiographic devices.
- Provide excellent patient service throughout the imaging process.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent and have completed a formal Radiologic Technology program accredited by the AMA. Candidates should be registered Radiologic Technologists or eligible for registration.
It is essential to demonstrate proficiency in the safe operation of radiographic equipment. Those who are registry eligible will work under the direct supervision of a registered Radiologic Technologist until they successfully pass the national registry examination.
Additionally, candidates must hold a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Licensure and Certification Requirements
Must be a registered Radiologic Technologist or eligible for registration, with an active Basic Life Support Certification.
