About the Facility

The newly established Winship at Emory Midtown facility spans 17 stories and over 450,000 square feet, meticulously designed to prioritize patient comfort and needs. Our care communities specialize in various cancer types, offering dedicated infusion facilities, clinical examination rooms, clinical research, and spaces for support and rehabilitation services.

Unit Information

This unit consists of 20 beds dedicated to Surgical Oncology, focusing on Gastrointestinal and Genitourinary patients. Experience in surgical and oncology nursing is preferred but not mandatory, as we provide training.

We care for acutely ill surgical oncology patients who may require various surgical diversions, including chest tubes and ostomies. Our team is committed to enhancing quality and safety through evidence-based practices, with a Clinical Nurse Specialist available on-site.

Position Description

Registered Nurse - Emory University Hospital Midtown, Winship Tower, 7am-7:30pm

While oncology experience is preferred, we welcome candidates who are eager to learn and willing to obtain Chemotherapy Certification.

Job Responsibilities

- Utilize acquired knowledge and experience to adapt to clinical changes.
- Apply the Synergy Model for Care to personalize patient and family care.
- Deliver safe and effective nursing care independently, utilizing the nursing process.
- Assess patient responses to care and modify plans as necessary.
- Integrate the AACN Synergy Model into clinical practice.
- Collect, analyze, and report data as required by physicians and interdisciplinary teams, adhering to organizational standards.

Minimum Qualifications

- Graduate from an accredited nursing program with 12 months of recent nursing experience or completion of a re-entry nursing program.
- Valid, active, unencumbered Nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board.
- BLS certification is required; ACLS may be necessary in designated departments.
