Job Title: IT GeneralistAt Crescens, we are seeking a highly skilled IT Generalist to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to our staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical assistance and support to staff members on desktop hardware and software.
- Administer the network, including adding, changing, and deleting network resources.
- Administer network security, including adding, changing, and deleting user accounts, passwords, and account lockouts.
- Configure computer systems to meet Department of Corrections and Office of Administration specifications.
- Maintain and instruct users on data backup procedures for servers, desktop, and laptop computers.
- Perform data restores from data for supporting agencies.
- Transfer user files and programs as necessary.
- Research, recommend, and coordinate the Service Request process for non-standard hardware and software purchases.
Requirements:
- Work with limited supervision to resolve equipment, software, applications, and telecommunications issues.
- Provide user support duties, including responding to calls, emails, and walk-ins for assistance, documenting problems, and diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving hardware, software, and network problems.
- Record information regarding the caller, work location, issue, and actions taken in the IT Services incident/problem resolution system.
- Refer to the Service Now incident/problem resolution database to resolve issues.
- Research, analyze, report, and make recommendations on information technologies relative to the supporting agencies' IT environment.
- Utilize established troubleshooting techniques and personal knowledge of other IT areas to resolve issues.
- Refer complex problems to IT Services Supervisors or other PSDC IT staff.
- Disseminate technical information to the caller and/or other staff as needed.
- Follow-up with the caller after resolving the issue to ensure satisfaction.
- Use knowledge of hardware and software to assist users in resolving equipment, software, and application and telecommunications issues.
- Communicate in a timely manner and disseminate knowledge obtained of new, current, and ongoing events to all other IT staff as needed.
- Review patterns of equipment, software, applications, and telecommunications failures and report findings and make recommendations to resolve the issue.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with computer and network related equipment and software.
- Knowledge of hardware and software used throughout the facility.
- Ability to work with limited supervision and make decisions independently.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
