Responsibilities- Collect and process used and contaminated equipment, instruments, and supplies for decontamination and sterilization.
- Operate and maintain decontamination equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
- Prepare and package decontaminated supplies for sterilization, adhering to strict protocols and guidelines.
- Examine supplies meticulously to ensure proper cleaning and sanitizing, and report any issues or problems with sterilization equipment.
- Sterilize, prepare, wrap, and organize equipment into instrument trays for use during medical procedures.
- Prepare and deliver all necessary equipment and instruments for procedures, ensuring timely and efficient service.
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization procedures, sterilized items, equipment maintenance, and supplies.
- Monitor inventory and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels and minimizing waste.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- One year of relevant experience preferred.
- Certification in Sterile Processing and Distribution preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, vigilance, and meticulous care on the job.
- Passion for keeping people safe and maintaining high standards of infection control.
- Good judgment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to work well in a team or individually.
- Manual dexterity and ability to handle fragile equipment.
- Technical skills and familiarity with sterilization techniques.
