Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sterilization Technician to join our team at Advanced Oral Surgery & Periodontics. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of infection control and patient safety.

Responsibilities
  • Collect and process used and contaminated equipment, instruments, and supplies for decontamination and sterilization.
  • Operate and maintain decontamination equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Prepare and package decontaminated supplies for sterilization, adhering to strict protocols and guidelines.
  • Examine supplies meticulously to ensure proper cleaning and sanitizing, and report any issues or problems with sterilization equipment.
  • Sterilize, prepare, wrap, and organize equipment into instrument trays for use during medical procedures.
  • Prepare and deliver all necessary equipment and instruments for procedures, ensuring timely and efficient service.
  • Maintain accurate records of sterilization procedures, sterilized items, equipment maintenance, and supplies.
  • Monitor inventory and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels and minimizing waste.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • One year of relevant experience preferred.
  • Certification in Sterile Processing and Distribution preferred.
Skills and Abilities
  • Strong attention to detail, vigilance, and meticulous care on the job.
  • Passion for keeping people safe and maintaining high standards of infection control.
  • Good judgment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to work well in a team or individually.
  • Manual dexterity and ability to handle fragile equipment.
