Responsibilities
  • Design and implement developmentally appropriate games and activities to foster children's cognitive, social, and emotional development.
  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly lesson plans, goals, and newsletters to ensure a consistent and engaging learning experience.
  • Provide basic care and caregiving activities, including diapering, toileting, and handwashing, to ensure the health and well-being of the children.
  • Evaluate and observe children to ensure they are reaching developmental milestones and maintain a portfolio for each student.
  • Follow an age-appropriate curricular plan and facilitate a supportive relationship with the director and coworkers.
  • Ensure the classroom is ordered, clean, and safe, and maintain a positive and respectful attitude towards children, colleagues, and parents.
  • Encourage children's development in areas such as self-confidence, problem-solving, and social skills.
  • Interact with each child daily through circle time, centers, snacks, lunchtime, outside play, and free play.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the director.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a daycare teacher or childcare provider.
  • Associate Degree/CDA or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Must meet quarterly/annual continuing education courses.
  • Strong understanding of child development and ability to maintain professionalism at all times.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Background check and First aid/CPR certification.
