About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team at WSP. As a key member of our Properties & Buildings Team, you will be responsible for designing and managing electrical infrastructure projects from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop drawings and specification documents for issuance to architects, contractors, and building owners
  • Coordinate design activities with other multi-discipline project team members
  • Design of electric distribution systems, fire alarm systems, and lighting and lighting control systems
  • Scheduling and selecting of electrical components and equipment
  • Perform electrical load, short circuit, and voltage drop calculations
  • Construction administration and management of design and construction of electrical infrastructure projects
  • Attend client and other stakeholder meetings
  • Interact with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients in a confident and professional manner
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 7+ years of relevant post-education experience as an electrical engineer providing design deliverables for capital projects in power generation, transmission, and distribution at a utility, industrial, or commercial scale
  • Engineer license required or the ability to obtain one within 6 months
  • Proficient with Revit and AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of relevant engineering and electrical construction laws, energy codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements
  • Interest in innovative design, specifically in renewable energies and sustainable, high-performing buildings
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Engineering
  • PE License or LEED AP certification
  • Knowledge of AGI32 and SKM
