The Salvation Army in Las Vegas, Nevada is seeking to hire a fulltime Facility Maintenance Worker for our Owens Campus facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong time management abilities, demonstrate a capacity to engage with individuals from various backgrounds, and execute assigned tasks with efficiency. This role is eligible for benefits, including vacation, sick leave, health insurance, vision coverage, life insurance, and more.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Facility Maintenance Worker will undertake routine and thorough cleaning tasks for the facility, which are scheduled on a daily, weekly, and/or monthly basis. General cleaning responsibilities will encompass: sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, sanitizing, and dusting all hard surfaces, restrooms, and shower areas. Detailed cleaning tasks will involve stripping, waxing, and shampooing floors and carpets, as well as scrubbing and painting doors and walls. This individual will also manage inventory and provide recommendations for monthly janitorial supply orders. Additional responsibilities include ensuring restroom supplies are adequately stocked and maintaining records for smoke alarms and fire extinguishers.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid Nevada State Driver's License with a clean driving record
  • Ability to perform duties independently without close supervision
  • Capacity to work collaboratively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and interact with various organizational personnel in a professional manner
  • Highly adaptable; thrives on challenges and excels in new environments
  • Possesses effective time management skills and can complete assigned tasks
  • Physically fit and capable of efficiently executing all assigned work
  • Understanding and acceptance of the Salvation Army's mission, philosophy, and practices
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and reach with hands and arms continuously. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. The employee must have the ability to operate a telephone, desktop or laptop computer, as well as the ability to access and produce information from a computer and understand written information.
