About the Role

We're seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design of electrically sophisticated projects in Science and Technology facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform analysis, design, and documentation of building electrical systems, including low and medium voltage power distribution, site and campus distribution, standby and backup power systems, and solar power systems.
  • Provide electrical engineering services on complex innovative electrical systems, including revising, reviewing, and coordinating construction documents.
  • Mentor and train junior level staff, and develop solutions to challenging electrical power distribution and lighting systems with integrated architecture and engineering project design teams.
  • Contribute to SmithGroup's sustainable design initiatives by using software to perform electrical loads, short circuit analysis, generator loads, and lighting calculations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience working as an electrical engineer designing electrical power distribution and lighting systems for new and renovated laboratories, data centers, government, higher ed, and other critical building types.
  • PE License with LEED AP and Engineering-in-Training certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in Revit and Microsoft Office required, with SKM systems power analysis and Bluebeam preferred.
