Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled LNG Operator to join our team at Chesapeake Utilities Corporation. As an LNG Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our natural gas facilities, including making control changes, conducting safety rounds, and monitoring equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Make control changes in the field to ensure smooth overall operations
  • Conduct visual scheduled safety/security rounds of the outside facility
  • Comply with all facility safety, environmental, and health requirements
  • Monitor all plant equipment and correct/repair or report problems
  • Troubleshoot, calibrate, and maintain plant control and monitoring systems
  • Obtain internal qualifications and qualify others on Plant Operations procedures
  • Perform equipment inspection, maintenance tasks, troubleshooting, and diagnoses of plant equipment and systems
  • Perform landscaping and upkeep of the plant and equipment

Requirements:
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair measurement instruments and equipment
  • Ability to interact positively and effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to understand complex problems and collaborate and explore alternative solutions
  • Ability to organize and prioritize own work schedule on a short-term basis
  • Ability to make decisions that have an impact on the immediate work unit
  • Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines
  • Ability to complete routine forms and conduct routine verbal communication
  • Ability to compose letters, outlines, memoranda, and basic reports and to verbally communicate technical information
  • Ability to communicate with customers using the telephone
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and to record, balance, and check results for accuracy
  • Knowledge of electronic instrumentation, mechanical and electrical knowledge, and repair abilities
  • Knowledge of programmable logic controllers
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Strong verbal, written communication, and organization skills
