We are seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Specialist to join our Special Education team at Calvert County Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing behavioral support and consultation to students with disabilities who exhibit challenging behaviors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments to identify the underlying causes of challenging behaviors
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate Behavior Intervention Plans to reduce negative behaviors and improve student outcomes
  • Provide direct support and consultation to classroom teams on behavior reduction, classroom management, and instructional best practices
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other school-based staff to develop and implement behavior support plans
  • Provide training and professional development to staff on principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and behavior support
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Special Education, Psychology, or related field
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification or experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
  • Experience working with students with autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, and other behavior disorders
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances
