Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures, including general diagnostic, general fluoroscopy, and c-arm procedures. You will work closely with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and high-quality imaging results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Competently perform basic to advanced radiologic procedures, including general diagnostic, general fluoroscopy, and c-arm procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, and confirm patient understanding.
  • Position patients and select exposure factors for various radiologic examinations, ensuring patient safety and radiation protection.
  • Identify patient and label images, compare requisitions to physician orders, and process images to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Assist and communicate with physicians, working independently outside the department as needed.
  • Prepare and maintain records, entering patient and study information into the radiology information system and documenting billing codes.
  • Serve as a technical resource, role model, and preceptor for students and staff, assisting with accreditation efforts.
  • Perform patient positioning and transporting duties, utilizing proper technique and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Requirements
  • Radiographer license issued by the state of Wisconsin.
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), obtained within 6 months.
  • Advanced training beyond high school, including completion of an accredited or approved program in Radiologic Technology.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday. Must be able to stand/walk for majority of the day and lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist. May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards, as well as blood and body fluids.
