Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Weirton Medical Center. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will play a critical role in administering scanning procedures to patients, maintaining records of radionuclides used in examinations, and performing quality control testing of nuclear camera, dose calibrator, survey meters, and spectrometer.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer scanning procedures to patients
  • Maintain records of radionuclides used in examinations
  • Perform quality control testing of nuclear camera, dose calibrator, survey meters, and spectrometer
  • Assist in radiation surveys
  • Operate nuclear medicine computer; schedule all nuclear medicine exams; order necessary isotopes for exam to be done
Requirements:
  • High school graduate and satisfactory completion of formal radiologic technology training in an approved school
  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist certification (ARRT (NM)) or Registered as a nuclear medicine technologist required (NMTCB) and a West Virginia State License
  • Supervised clinical experience in a hospital nuclear medicine department for one year in duration
