About the Role

Vista Community Clinic is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Dental Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dental team in delivering high-quality services.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in Patient Care: Provide a wide range of patient care activities, including impressions, applying topical agents, and assisting in the administration of nitrous oxide.
  • Coordinate Clinical Activities: Maintain a smooth flow of patients from reception to operatories, coordinate activities across multiple operatories, and ensure proper utilization of time, resources, and patient needs.
  • Explain Treatment Options: Clearly explain treatment recommendations to patients in a supportive and understandable manner.
  • Prepare Equipment and Materials: Prepare equipment, instruments, materials, and operatories for patient care, and perform routine maintenance of equipment and restocking of materials.
  • Operate X-ray Equipment: Operate x-ray equipment to make complete and/or selective oral radiographic services, process images, and arrange them in a layout format.
Requirements
  • Education and Training: High school graduate or equivalent with post-high school vocational/specialized training.
  • Language Skills: Bilingual English/Spanish.
  • Certifications and Experience: Current CPR certification and operational experience with x-ray machines, sterilizing equipment, ultrasonic equipment, laboratory equipment, and other dental practice-related equipment.
  • Availability and Flexibility: Availability and willingness to work evening and/or weekend hours when requested.
Preferred Skills and Knowledge
  • Professional Dental Duties: Knowledge of the full range of professional dental duties in connection with treatment of dental diseases and dental health problems of usual difficulty.
  • Healthcare Delivery Systems: Knowledge of healthcare delivery systems and the ability to use that knowledge in assisting clients with accessing necessary healthcare services.
  • Computer Skills: Experience/familiarity with computers, Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel), business email communication systems, and internet search capabilities.
