Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Brett V Curtis MD & Associates A PR. As a key member of our urgent care and occupational medicine team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to the success of our organization.

Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent treatment and collaborative care options, including physical examinations, assessments, diagnosis, and treatment.
  • Order and interpret x-rays, lab results, and EKGs.
  • Triage and manage patients thoroughly and efficiently to maintain a steady pace and avoid long wait times.
  • Perform digital blocks, regional anesthesia, and minor surgical procedures, such as wound closure and management, I&D, and foreign body removal.
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, such as aspirations and injection of joints, bursas, cysts, and start IV fluids.
  • Perform closed reductions of simple fractures or dislocations of fingers/toes.
  • Apply and modify braces, splints, and other orthopedic appliances.
  • Review and manage daily tasks, patient callbacks, and lab results while on shift.
  • Order physical therapy, chiropractic, and acupuncture for our workers' compensation patients.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Medical/Master's degree and certification.
  • PA – valid California license to practice as a Physician Assistant and current national certification.
  • NP – valid California license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner and current national certification.
  • Current, unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of California.
  • Maintain a controlled substance license along with an unrestricted California DEA license.
  • Ability to consult and treat patients age three and up.
  • Experience in ER, urgent care, or similar settings (minimum 1 year).
  • Ability to work two Saturdays per month (required for full-time clinicians).
  • Maintain confidentiality and impartiality at all times.
  • Availability to work in other clinic locations and some non-observed holidays as needed (preferred).
