Job Summary


The primary objective of this role is to administer medications to residents as ordered by the attending physician, under the direction of a licensed nurse within the scope of practice for Medication Aides.


Responsibilities


  • Administer medications to residents as directed by the attending physician and under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
  • Ensure accurate and timely medication administration, adhering to established nursing standards and community policies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide comprehensive care and support to residents.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance knowledge and skills in medication administration and resident care.

Requirements


  • Be listed in good standing on the registry as a medication aide in the state where you work.
  • Pass the QMA competency evaluation program, including a written test if required by your state.
  • Have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be currently enrolled in a high school program.
  • Be able to communicate effectively in English and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Possess good interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with supervisors, coworkers, and community staff.
  • Ability to observe proper safety and sanitary techniques.
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends, as scheduled.
