Our comprehensive range of medical services includes trauma services, heart and vascular care, emergency services, surgery, maternity care, cancer care, and diagnostic imaging.

Key Responsibilities

As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will be responsible for cleaning, inspecting, processing, assembling, and sterilizing all instruments and equipment according to policy, industry standards, and manufacturer instructions. You will also practice universal precautions and follow OSHA requirements at all times. Additionally, you will assist with daily and weekly testing and logging of mechanical equipment, including mechanical washers, sonic devices, and sterilizers. You will maintain accurate and legible documentation and assist with the routine maintenance of instrumentation by identifying items needing repair. You will also follow procedures for set assembly using instrument checklists and/or instrument tracking where available. In some cases, you will complete case cart assembly by adding needed instrumentation to the cart. You will assist with OR room turnover and clean and HLD GI scopes, bronchoscopes, and TEE probes. You will use supplies efficiently, correctly, and according to manufacturer instructions. You will participate in department activities, including orientation, system education, quality, daily briefing, and supply needs.

Qualifications

We require a high school diploma or GED. Preferred qualifications include 1-2 years of experience in the field and certification by CBSPD or IAHCSMM.
