General Manager Job Description

US Auto Trust LLC is seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee and motivate our talented team of professionals at Aston Martin/Lotus of San Diego.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Hire, train, motivate, direct, and monitor all dealership department managers and supervisory personnel functions.
  • Provide enthusiastic leadership to help shape employees' attitudes and build morale.
  • Oversee daily operations, remedy customer complaints promptly, and ensure customer satisfaction metrics are met.
  • Plan short- and long-term dealership goals, objectives, and forecasts annually and submit to corporate management for approval.
  • Implement growth strategies that align with automotive group objectives by carefully assessing profit and loss while maintaining vehicle inventory that meets the needs of the local market.
  • Ensure the monthly financial statement is complete, accurate, and submitted promptly.
  • Coordinate with the business office to ensure that records and analyses are maintained accurately.
  • Develop merchandising strategies and assist in creating effective, cost-efficient advertising programs.
  • Hold regularly scheduled managers meetings and maintain a good working relationship with owners, managers, dealership staff, and external vendors and partners.
  • Communicate management policies and procedures to all employees and ensure that they are understood and followed.
  • Review, approve, and monitor requests for training and compensation plans for all employees.
Requirements:
  • At least five years of experience as a General Manager preferred.
  • Aston Martin experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) preferred.
  • Two years' experience in dealership sales and five years' experience in a supervisory position.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable.
  • Possess a state-issued driver's license and acceptable driving record to operate dealership-owned vehicles.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to understand profit and loss statements and manage a large, diverse staff.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while juggling multiple tasks.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve independently.
  • Strong collaboration skills - can work well with navigating various stakeholders and teams.
  • Extensive knowledge of the automotive industry and trends.
