About the Role

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a skilled engineer to join our solar energy assessment team. As an Energy Yield Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting our clients in the solar industry by performing solar resource assessments, analyzing operational production data, and conducting long-term solar PV energy production assessments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform solar resource assessments using satellite-based and ground-based data
  • Analyze operational production and performance data from solar projects
  • Conduct long-term solar PV energy production assessments using PVsyst and Excel-based post-processing tools
  • Predict energy production and perform uncertainty analysis to determine probabilities of exceedance
  • Write technical due diligence reports and communicate results to clients and stakeholders
Additional Responsibilities
  • Evaluate solar equipment selections and technologies
  • Review project execution plans from EPC contractors
  • Review project contracts, including PPA, EPC, and O&M agreements
  • Review project CAPEX, OPEX, and performance parameters in financial models
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Comprehensive understanding of solar resource assessment and energy yield prediction methodology
  • 3+ years of experience in the solar industry, including experience in design, consulting, or due diligence services
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in writing technical reports and proposals
