$30-35/hour, depending upon experience

The Accounting Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of the Finance Department.

Key responsibilities encompass various financial functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Budgeting and Forecasting, Cost Accounting, Fixed Asset Accounting, Expense Management, Grants Management, Consolidation, Month-end and Year-end close, Audits, and Payroll.


Core Responsibilities Include:
Oversee grant accounting activities from initiation to reporting, ensuring adherence to Federal, State, and contractual obligations.
Prepare and process monthly grant invoices and collections.
Track grant expenditures, accurately coding to funding sources and distributing shared costs.
Collaborate with diverse teams to offer financial support and insights on grant-related issues.

Conduct month-end closing tasks, which include monthly elimination, adjusting and recurring journal entries, account reconciliations, asset schedules, and financial statement preparation.

Review and analyze accounting records, financial statements, or other financial documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with reporting and procedural standards.

Utilize Excel for financial data analysis, generating specialized financial reports, and delivering insights to aid decision-making.
Assist in the budget formulation and forecasting processes.
Collect data for financial audits and other grantor evaluations.
Process payroll, including updating necessary deductions and withholdings.
Maintain records of employee sick leave and vacation time.
Perform additional job-related tasks as required.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent experience and training.
One to two years of diverse accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit environment.
Strong grasp of month-end closing procedures and financial reporting.
Proficiency in accounting software, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel capabilities.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
Willingness to acquire new skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
