OrthoAtlanta is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Surgical Nurse Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for organizing and facilitating patient throughput in the operating room, coordinating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and room staff to ensure seamless case management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate patient flow in the operating room, ensuring efficient scheduling and timely completion of cases.
- Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and room staff to ensure smooth case management.
- Manage and maintain accurate records of patient information, including medical history, allergies, and medications.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to identify and implement process improvements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure excellent patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and satisfaction.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest medical procedures, technologies, and best practices in surgical nursing.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia or eligible to obtain.
- Current BLS for Healthcare Provider certification.
- Current ACLS certification.
- At least 1 year of operating room experience.
- Experience in critical care, telemetry, or emergency room settings is beneficial.
- Knowledge of electronic medical records systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
