Job Title: Trimmer/Advanced Climber

Type: Full-Time/Non-Exempt

Reports to: Foreperson/General Foreperson

Job Summary:

Wright Tree Service is seeking a skilled Trimmer/Advanced Climber to join our team. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for trimming and removing trees, using a variety of equipment and techniques to ensure safe and efficient work practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Trim and remove trees using climbing equipment, ladders, and powered trimmer lift trucks.
  • Use hand tools, such as saws and pruners, to cut branches and trunks.
  • Spray stumps and brush with herbicides to prevent regrowth.
  • Load and unload trucks with logs, stumps, brush, and debris.
  • Repair damage to lawns, fences, and walks caused by tree trimming.
  • Relay hand signals, direct traffic, and operate trucks and equipment as assigned.
  • Train new employees on proper procedures and safety protocols.
  • Safeguard employees and the public from hazards in and around the work area.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 12 months experience working on tree trimming or clearing crews.
  • Basic knowledge of trees, including identification, growth habits, and arboricultural techniques.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Ability to lift, move, and maneuver up to 50 pounds on an infrequent basis and up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Herbicide applicator or operator certification and license as required by Wright Tree Service and local, state, and federal law.
  • Valid First-Aid and CPR cards.
  • Ability to work long hours and overtime during emergencies, including holidays, weekends, and storm work.
