Job SummaryThe successful candidate will provide psychiatric services in a clinical setting, working with diverse client populations of all ages. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct psychiatric assessments and develop treatment plans for clients.
- Prescribe and manage medication, order laboratory tests, and evaluate test results.
- Consult with clinical staff and other service providers to ensure comprehensive care.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary treatment planning and document services provided.
- Refer clients to primary care and community service providers as needed.
- Authorize involuntary detention and transfer to hospitals as required.
- Perform urgent and emergent assessments, including risk assessment, de-escalation, and crisis intervention.
- Authorize and/or deny services as appropriate in the performance of utilization review.
- Deliver specialized treatment modalities, such as trauma-informed therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy.
- Provide urgent psychiatric consults for mobile crisis outreach teams.
- Confer with crisis mobile response teams to develop plans of care for clients.
- Physician and Surgeon license issued by the Medical Board of California.
- Certificate of completion of a psychiatric residency training program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or equivalent accrediting body.
- Board eligibility or certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc. (ABPN) in General Psychiatry or equivalent.
- Certificate of current Controlled Substance Registration issued by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA).
- Eligibility to participate in federally funded health care programs, as verified with the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) and the Medi-Cal suspended and ineligible list.
