As a Senior Systems Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
  • Overseeing systems engineering activities such as requirements analysis, functional analysis, design solution formulation, systems analysis and control, and the creation and maintenance of systems architecture products.
  • Applying systems engineering principles to convert quantified needs and requirements into system performance parameters and identifying system/item configurations.
  • Formulating and issuing systems engineering documentation, processes, procedures, and milestones.
  • Possessing a comprehensive understanding of the Systems Engineering Management Process and its implementation, particularly as it pertains to the Department of Army/DOD Acquisition process across all life cycle phases.
  • Demonstrating knowledge of DOD policies regarding Systems Engineering, Integrated Product and Process Development (IPPD), and IPT Management, while coordinating and negotiating design and engineering activities with related programs and organizations.
  • Providing expert and authoritative guidance on critical programs and technologies.
  • Serving as the subject matter expert for all technical aspects of the assigned program.
  • Conducting top-level design, development, integration, testing, installation, and troubleshooting.
  • Translating military operational and mission requirements into practical system concepts and performance specifications.
  • Developing and maintaining technical documentation, including specifications, engineering drawings, system interface requirements, and engineering changes.
  • Participating in post-award program reviews, design reviews, and IPTs as the project engineer and/or technical expert on assigned programs.
  • Evaluating design efforts to ensure the integration of all engineering disciplines and the adequacy of analyses performed, bringing in additional technical expertise as necessary.
  • Reviewing test plans, procedures, and reports for technical adequacy on assigned programs, including both Government and contractor tests, as well as all failure reports.
  • Assessing system performance against specification requirements, monitoring and evaluating field performance, and analyzing the risk of meeting user and specification requirements.
  • Initiating engineering change proposals and waivers/deviations as required and conducting physical and functional configuration audits.

Required Skills & Experience:


You will be recognized as a subject matter expert in Systems Engineering and possess the capability to lead engineering efforts on assigned programs with minimal oversight from the Government lead.


Required Clearance:
ACTIVE CLEARANCE LEVEL REQUIRED:
Secret. Please note that U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Government Clearance.

Qualifications:
A minimum of fifteen (15) years of relevant work experience is required, or equivalent experience commensurate with DAWIA Level II SPRDE certification.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with flexibility around core hours. Travel may occur outside of normal core hours. This position currently allows for hybrid telework, which includes two days on-site and three days telework. This telework designation is subject to change at the discretion of the Government.
