Job Title: Pool Facilitator

Location: Pennsylvania State University

About the Position:

The Department of Campus Recreation at Penn State is seeking students to fill the position of Pool Facilitator. This role involves instructing group and private swim lessons to various ages and abilities, ensuring participant safety, and managing disagreements.

Responsibilities:

  • Instruct group and private swim lessons to a variety of ages and experiences
  • Demonstrate confidence and knowledge of American Red Cross standards
  • Ensure participant safety and manage disagreements
  • Obtain certifications and complete background checks
  • Work variable hours, including mornings, evenings, and weekends
  • Participate in trainings and meetings, and be receptive to professional development

Working Conditions:

This is a student position with a maximum of 24 hours per week during the academic year and 40 hours per week during breaks.

Estimated Salary: $12-$15 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you should have excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of swimming techniques and safety protocols, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
