We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Emory Healthcare. As a Geriatric Outpatient Psychiatric Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and families in a fast-paced outpatient setting.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients and families in routine nursing situations under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse or licensed provider.
- Assist physicians and registered nurses in the comfort, care, and treatment of patients.
- Perform a variety of semi-skilled nursing responsibilities, including administering IVs and medications, assisting with diagnostic procedures, and observing and recording patients' conditions and progress.
- Conduct daily inventory of medical equipment and supplies, and maintain exam/treatment rooms per infection control policies and standard clinic protocols.
- Obtain and document patient vital signs, including temperature, respirations, pulse, and blood pressure, and obtain patient measurements, to include height, weight, pain levels, and others in the electronic medical record.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing Program.
- Licensure/Certification: Currently licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the state of Georgia.
- Current BLS certification required.
This position requires occasional to frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, and close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing). The physical demands of this position may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to, blood-borne pathogen exposure, bio-hazardous waste, chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors, communicable diseases, electrical shock, floor surfaces, hot/cold temperatures, indoor/outdoor conditions, latex, lighting, patient care/handling injuries, radiation, shift work, travel may be required, use of personal protective equipment, including respirators.
