About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Hydraulic Steel Structures Principal Engineer to join our team at Dewberry Engineers Incorporated. As a key member of our water resources group, you will play a critical role in the design and construction of large-scale flood resilience and water-related projects in coastal and riverine environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of preliminary and detailed designs of hydraulic steel structures, including flood control gates, storm surge barriers, and rolling and swing gates.
  • Write specifications and develop construction documents for large-scale flood resilience and water-related projects.
  • Collaborate with clients to establish budget, performance, and schedule goals for task teams.
  • Provide technical services for resilience, water resources, and hazard mitigation projects within the municipal, regional, and federal markets.
Requirements
  • BS or MS degree in Mechanical, Marine, or Structural Engineering, with an emphasis on design of hydraulic structures in marine environments.
  • At least 15 years of experience in marine engineering, flood resilience, flood control, and water resources.
  • Demonstrated performance as hydraulic structures engineer of record on built projects.
  • Professional Engineer License and ability to apply for reciprocity in various states.
