We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Kenworth Northeast, Group Inc. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance duties to ensure our customers' trucks are running smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with diesel engines, transmissions, and other heavy-duty truck components
- Work on major components, including engines, transmissions, and differentials, with close supervision
- Perform troubleshooting on minor problems, such as basic check engine lights and symptoms on MX and Cummins products
- Basic wiring troubleshooting and repairs
- Perform diagnostics on HVAC systems and replace parts as needed
- Remove and replace external engine components, such as exhaust manifolds, EGR coolers, and valves
- Replace fuel injectors and perform overhead valve and injector adjustments and tune-ups
- Proficient with welding, torch cutting, and other metalworking techniques
- Minimum 1-2 years of hands-on experience and on-the-job training in a related mechanical field
- Graduate of vocational courses or equivalent experience and training
- Experience in truck dealership preferred but not required
- A/C and Brake experience
- CAT Engine experience preferred but not required
- MX Engine experience preferred
- Cummins Engine experience preferred
- Electrical experience
- Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities
- CDL preferred, but not required
- Competitive pay rate of $23-50/hour depending on experience
