Job Title: Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Kenworth Northeast, Group Inc. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance duties to ensure our customers' trucks are running smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues with diesel engines, transmissions, and other heavy-duty truck components
  • Work on major components, including engines, transmissions, and differentials, with close supervision
  • Perform troubleshooting on minor problems, such as basic check engine lights and symptoms on MX and Cummins products
  • Basic wiring troubleshooting and repairs
  • Perform diagnostics on HVAC systems and replace parts as needed
  • Remove and replace external engine components, such as exhaust manifolds, EGR coolers, and valves
  • Replace fuel injectors and perform overhead valve and injector adjustments and tune-ups
  • Proficient with welding, torch cutting, and other metalworking techniques
Requirements:
  • Minimum 1-2 years of hands-on experience and on-the-job training in a related mechanical field
  • Graduate of vocational courses or equivalent experience and training
  • Experience in truck dealership preferred but not required
  • A/C and Brake experience
  • CAT Engine experience preferred but not required
  • MX Engine experience preferred
  • Cummins Engine experience preferred
  • Electrical experience
  • Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities
  • CDL preferred, but not required
