Position Overview:

The Public Area Attendant plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and overall presentation of guest units and communal spaces. This position is dedicated to ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and aesthetics for our guests. Responsibilities include thorough cleaning and upkeep of assigned public areas, as well as reporting any damages, mechanical issues, or suspicious activities in line with established housekeeping protocols and safety regulations to enhance guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Level One Duties:

  1. Execute cleaning tasks in designated areas following safety and security guidelines.
  2. Ensure the cleanliness and organization of public area furnishings and fixtures, inspecting for any damage or stains.
  3. Polish and maintain furniture and lighting fixtures, ensuring they are in good working order.
  4. Dust and clean artwork, frames, mirrors, baseboards, doors, and doorframes to eliminate dust and smudges.
  5. Utilize approved cleaning agents and equipment to effectively remove dirt and soil from surfaces.
  6. Clear debris from public areas, including emptying waste containers and ashtrays as necessary.
  7. Maintain cleanliness in elevators and remove any debris from elevator tracks.
  8. Ensure public and house phones are clean and operational.
  9. Keep the foyer area tidy and presentable throughout the day.
  10. Collect and return glassware left in public spaces to service areas.
  11. Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness in public and associate restrooms, ensuring all waste is disposed of properly.
  12. Restock restroom supplies such as facial and toilet tissue, hand towels, and soap as needed.
  13. Receive and return keys and communication devices from security at the beginning and end of each shift.
  14. Confirm daily tasks with the Supervisor and maintain communication throughout the shift.
  15. Address guest requests and relay any concerns to management.
  16. Report any lost items, damages, or mechanical issues to the Supervisor.
  17. Turn in found items to Security.
  18. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: No formal education is required.

Experience: Previous experience in cleaning public facilities is preferred.

Skills:

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English with guests, colleagues, and management.
  • Attention to detail, speed, accuracy, and the ability to work independently.
  • Physical capability to operate cleaning equipment.
  • Organizational skills to prioritize and follow up on tasks.
  • Commitment to ensuring the security of hotel property and the confidentiality of guests.

Additional Skills:

  • Basic reading, writing, and speaking skills in English.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to follow simple instructions and handle standardized situations.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred. Relevant experience in hospitality, military, or similar fields is advantageous.

Work Ethic: Demonstrated positive attitude and work ethic to achieve operational efficiency while meeting guest satisfaction standards.
