Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular Technician to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As a Cardiovascular Technician, you will play a critical role in assisting credentialed providers with diagnostic, interventional, and therapeutic procedures in the cardiac and vascular laboratory environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with cardiology and radiology studies, preparing and positioning patients for invasive procedures, and recording patients' hemodynamic activity using specialized electronic test equipment.
  • Manage patient arterial and venous access sites post-procedure, including removal of sheaths and safe management of hemostatic devices.
  • Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot Intra Aortic Balloon Pump when required.
  • Recognize cardiac arrhythmias and hemodynamic waveforms, alerting credentialed providers and other team members during procedures and according to protocol.
  • Administer intra-coronary and/or intra-arterial medications under direct supervision of the physician.
  • Prepare and maintain sterile fields using aseptic technique for testing.
  • Perform basic and advanced life support when required, including defibrillation.
Requirements
  • Successful completion of an accredited invasive cardiovascular technologist training program or two years of education in an allied health science, such as nursing, respiratory therapy, radiographic technology, or emergency medicine technology, with comparable work experience in an Interventional Cath Lab Environment.
  • Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist Certificate within 12 months of hire or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Vascular Interventional Radiography within 12 months of hire or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certificate - Cardiac Interventional Radiography within 12 months of hire or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist Certificate within 12 months of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support certifications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Five years of recent interventional cath lab experience.
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) for Cardiovascular Labs or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) for Electrophysiology.
