Job Title: Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Ryder in North Haven, CT. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance, diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electronic problems, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our truck fleet.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes, brake and tire work
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electronic problems
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of our truck fleet
  • Interact with customers/drivers to properly determine the nature of complaints
  • Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A, preferred
